Do you know how to read a topographic map and use a base plate compass? This indoor, introductory course covers how to read topographic map features and how to orient a map to the terrain. We’ll cover how to choose a compass, take a bearing and how to use a compass in conjunction with a map. The last part of the class will be a discussion on route selection.

First Aid In The Outdoors

If you spend enough time in the outdoors, stuff happens! Everything from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies can, and do, happen to people when they are hiking, camping, paddling, and biking. Knowing how to handle these types of situations may help save you or a loved one in the future!

Fix-A-Flat

This basic class will show you how to safely fix a flat on your own bike. By using easy, step by step instructions, you’ll feel confident and ready to handle whatever the road or trail may throw at you.

We’ll acquaint you with the different parts of the wheel and brake systems, and demonstrate the most important areas to pay attention to when changing your tubes. We’ll also go over proper inflation to hopefully eliminate common troubles on the road or trail.
